Thuto AI

Our Story

In Grade 11, our founder was told to drop maths. Not because he didn't care. Not because he wasn't smart. But because his school wanted to protect their 100% pass rate. They didn't ask how he was doing. They didn't offer support. They simply made him disappear — so their numbers could stay clean.

He was transferred. Quietly. Neatly. One less student to worry about. One more dream deferred.

That's how the system works. Behind every "perfect" pass rate are students like our founders — Moved around. Pushed out. Silenced. Not because they're failures, but because they're inconvenient.

That moment could have broken him. But it didn't.

Instead, it opened his eyes — To a system built on exclusion, To schools that prioritise performance over people, To children taught to fear maths instead of understanding it.

Thuto AI was born from that pain.

It's not just a product. It's a promise — that no student will ever be pushed aside again.

We're building Africa's largest AI-powered maths tutor. One that lives where students already are — on WhatsApp. One that speaks in their language — isiZulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans, English. One that explains, listens, and stays patient — no matter how many times you ask.

It's maths help at midnight. It's confidence in your pocket. It's the tutor who never gives up on you.

This is personal. Because too many kids are carrying quiet shame. They think they're not smart enough. Not fast enough. Not good enough. But the truth is: they've just never been taught in a way that works for them.

Thuto AI is for them.

For the boy who sits in the back, too afraid to raise his hand. For the girl who thinks she's bad at numbers but dreams of becoming an engineer. For the parents who want to help but don't know how. For the schools that care, but don't have enough teachers. For the corporates and governments who say they care about the future — This is your chance to prove it.

We don't want to raise pass rates. We want to raise possibilities. We don't just want to teach maths. We want to rewrite the entire story.

Because every child is capable. Every mark can be improved. And no dream should be discarded to protect a statistic.

Thuto means "education." And this — this is what it should have always looked like. We're here to give it back to the students who were never meant to be forgotten.
